Bishop Graham Rose

Thomas Graham Rose was born in 1951 in Gauteng, South Africa, and completed high school at Christian Brothers’ College, Kimberley. His tertiary education qualifications include a BCom and an LLB degree from Wits University, a BDiv degree from Urbanum University, Rome, and a DDiv degree which he was awarded by the Pontifical University in Ireland. He was ordained in 1980 and has served as Priest-in-Charge at parishes in Soweto, Katlehong and Magaliesberg. He served as Rector of St John Vianney Seminary, and was Priest-in-Charge at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Rivonia, until he was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Dundee in 2008.
Other appointments include:
• Chairman of the Board of Directors of St Augustine College (Catholic University, Johannesburg).
• Chairman of Professional Conduct Committee – Archdiocese of Pretoria/Diocese of Johannesburg.
• Episcopal Vicar for Vocations, Diocese of Johannesburg.
• Consultor to Archbishop Buti Thlagale of the Archdiocese of Johannesburg.
In 2019 he was appointed second Vice-President of the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SACBC).
